Privacy Policy
LiftBook is a workout planning and tracking app for iPhone. It does not require a LiftBook account. This policy describes what stays on your device, what can sync through your private iCloud database, and what is used for analytics and diagnostics.
Workout data and storage
Workout data is saved on your device. Release builds enable private iCloud synchronization for eligible content. Deleting the app may remove local data; reinstalling it alone does not restore a device backup. Only content successfully exported to iCloud can be recovered through synchronization.
LiftBook does not create LiftBook user accounts or operate a LiftBook workout server. Routines, custom exercises, and completed workouts are eligible to sync through the private iCloud database associated with your Apple account.
Active workouts, the bundled exercise catalog, rest timer state, local notifications, Live Activities, and device preferences stay on your iPhone. The workout content you enter is not sent to LiftBook's analytics or diagnostic providers.
Sync depends on iCloud availability and may be pending or unavailable. A pending or failed export is not a backup, and LiftBook does not guarantee when iCloud will finish syncing.
Deletion and iCloud account changes
Deleting a synchronized routine, custom exercise, or completed workout creates a deletion record that can propagate to your other devices through iCloud. Propagation depends on iCloud availability.
If the iCloud account associated with LiftBook changes, you can keep the data local or choose to copy it to the new account. LiftBook does not merge data between different iCloud accounts automatically.
Analytics and diagnostics
LiftBook uses TelemetryDeck to collect anonymized product interaction analytics, such as whether onboarding was completed or whether a workout was started. These events do not include workout names, exercise names, reps, weight, routines, notes, or other fitness content that you enter in the app.
LiftBook uses Sentry to collect crash reports and limited performance diagnostics so the developer can find stability problems. Sentry is configured not to send default personally identifiable information.
Notifications
LiftBook can schedule local notifications for rest timers if you allow notifications. These notifications are created by iOS on your device and are used only to alert you when a rest timer ends.
External links
Some exercise details may include links to external video websites. Opening those links leaves LiftBook and may be subject to the privacy practices of the external website or app.
Data collection
LiftBook does not send the fitness data you enter, such as routines, workouts, exercises, reps, or weights, to LiftBook servers. Supported training records may be stored in your private iCloud database as described above.
For analytics and diagnostics, LiftBook and its third-party service providers may collect data that is not linked to your identity, including device identifiers used for analytics, product interaction data, crash data, performance data, and other diagnostic data. This data is not used for tracking. Sentry is configured not to send default personally identifiable information.
Advertising and tracking
LiftBook does not include advertising and does not track you across other companies' apps or websites. Analytics and diagnostics are used to understand product interactions and identify stability issues; they do not receive the workout content you enter.
